Lime mortar repointing in Co Durham & Nth Yorkshire
Since starting in business I have enjoyed working with award winning architects, builders, conservationists and property developers, However, I spend the majority of my time working for discerning private clients who will use my services to refurbish anything from a simple garden wall to an extensive country home.
Bramhal, Blenkharn, Leonard. (Architects), Malton: Comments withheld for confidentiality. But they were very complementary and alluded to there being no finer example of top quality lime work.
Victoria Letton, Bledington: Many thanks for all your hard work & making the cottage sing again (at least on that side!!). I’m so delighted with it all. We’d definitely like to book in for the work on the south elevation and the gable end (excluding the apex) - and are happy with the wait
Bob Hardie, Stow-on-the-Wold: Thank you for making the cottage look so much better. Ready for the next 500 years!
Nigel Wearne, Bampton: thank you for an excellent job. The photos make a beautiful record of your craftsmanship.
Mr T W, Farnborough, West Berkshire: Dear Michael...Thank you for the photos. The before and after ones are good!
Dr. Bedford., Pury End: "Thanks again for your excellent work, we have the best pointed gable end in the village. We may be back in touch if you ever fancy a return."
"Thank you for preserving and producing an excellent finished job. We are so glad that we went for the lime based pointing rather than cement." Lauren and John, Summertown, Oxford.
"Thanks for all your hard work, we still really can't believe the transformation. We'd always be happy to give a reference if required."
Nick H, Pury End.
"Although on the smaller side of jobs, Mike's work was professional and considered. His re-pointing of our wall resulted in a first class finish. Of particular note was his excellent communication - we received daily updates via email. This was very useful as we were often unable to catch him before we returned from work. Highly recommended." Sam, Witney.
Rosemary (Fyfield): "Mike, the cottage has much improved since it has been re-pointed; it is less draughty and much warmer. The Wisteria has now sprung into life; please come and take some photographs."
Sarah (Witney): "Very pleased with the wall, thanks. Looks great actually. Thanks a lot, good job."
Patty (Darlington): "Thank you. And it has been a pleasure to talk to you! I have learned so much which I will take into account when I buy my next place - which will be an oldie.
Martin Hibbert, Faringdon: The front wall looks fantastic. The craftsmanship really shows. I'm very glad I asked you to do it rather than someone cheaper. The whole frontage now looks wonderful. It's brought the house back to life. Thanks very much!
Jonathan Glithero, Aston: As with the front elevation your skill has transformed the stonework on the end wall to another level!
Will Scott Moncrieff: Over a period of several months Mike has worked tirelessly to apply hot mixed lime-based mortar to our 18th century stone cottage. His painstaking work has transformed the aesthetic of the house; it has also undone a lot of the damage that modern building techniques had caused when maintaining the house in the past. It has resolved an earlier issue with damp within the building and has made the house warmer - saving on heating bills. Mike was unfailingly friendly and professional throughout his work here. From entertaining children to taking the bins out, Mike went above and beyond to make the experience a positive one all round. I would not hesitate to recommend Michael to anyone in need of his expertise.
Mike clearly and precisely specified the project as well as his approach to the work. It was a pleasure having him working on our precious home." Tim, Kingham.
Nikky (Wolvercote): "Dear Mike, first of all thank you so much for all your hard work. We are extremely pleased, I really think the re-pointing at the front of the house has transformed it! Everyone has commented on how beautiful it looks. More than happy to be a reference if it's ever needed.
Ron Middleton: "Dear Mike, thank you very much for your hard work in such hot conditions. I am very pleased with the result and to have had this particular job done professionally and well."
Dr Paddy Bullard (Beckley): "Dear Mike, thanks for doing such a lovely job for us, Mike - the house looks absolutely beautiful, we're really delighted with it and very grateful. Great news you're up for helping us with the fireplace too, that's a relief - see you again next week!"
Mr Hall (Cumnor Hill): "Mike, many thanks for your work. Best wishes, Bruce."
Jo, Buckland: "Thank you so much for the lovely job you have done. It feels great to see it looking solid and cared for."
"Mike has repointed two Cotswold Stone cottage walls for us using lime mortar. The work was completed to our satisfaction and we were very impressed by the way in which Mike clearly and precisely specified the project as well as his approach to the work. It was a pleasure having him working on our precious home."
Tim, Kingham.
Andrew Smith (Buckland): "Michael, please let me know if you would like a reference for the work you have done, I'm very happy with it and will recommend you."
"Thank you for preserving and producing an excellent finished job. We are so glad that we went for the lime based pointing rather than cement." Lauren and John, Summertown, Oxford.
